If I remember correctly, several weeks ago, we spoke about the importance and power of a good quality shower thought. Yes, a good quality shower head is fine too, but a real, genuine 100% pure shower thought just about takes the cake. For those unfamiliar with a shower thought, its one of those little ideas that runs through your mind while you bathe, and leaves you pondering long after the hot water has run out. The very concepts permeate your brain and keep you in a constant state of awe. Below are more shower thoughts to comfort you in these chilly fall evenings.
- Your skull doesn’t have a facial expression. Your flesh just moves around it.
- Cows are just edible lawnmowers
- Eating a spoonful of sugar is literally consuming crystals for energy
- A gun is just a long range hole punch
- You don’t bite down, you bite up
How’s your brain doing, friend? Good? Here’s what you missed in the news yesterday.
Ethiopia, A Little Louder For People In America, Please!
In a world that has been predominantly male for centuries, one nation seeks not to change the direction of the wheel, but to break the wheel (game of thrones reference). On Thursday, Ethiopia swore in its first female Supreme Court chief, adding to the recent trend of female appointments by Ethiopia’s new Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, according to NPR.
Meaza Ashenafi, the revolutionary appointee, has served for many years in the Ethiopian judicial system. She was a judge on the country’s High Court from 1989 to 1992 and served as an adviser for the UN Economic Commission for Africa. When lawmakers asked Abiy why he chose Ashenafi, he made it clear that the court system needed her talents to “successfully implement demands made with regards to justice, democracy, and change in our country.”
Okay, Google. Search “How To Properly Handle A Sexual Assault Claim”
Google employees have just about had it with their company’s irresponsibility with handling claims of sexual misconduct. Thousands of employees, most of which were women, walked out their various campuses in a massive global protest on Thursday. The protest is a response to a New York Times report that unearthed information suggesting Google paid former executives accused of sexual harassment millions of dollars in severance/hush money.
One of the executives, Andy Rubin, the brains behind Android, was given $90 million, even after Google’s investigation found evidence proving Rubin coerced a female employee into unwanted sexual contact.
“The issue of unaccountable billionaires and out-of-touch leadership at tech companies runs through all the movement work we’ve done at Google, from fighting racial inequality to Maven and beyond.”

The New UN Ambassador Is….Drum Roll….
President Donald Trump announced that he plans on appointed Heather Nauert, the current State Department spokeswoman, to be the next US Ambassador to the United Nations. If selected, Nauert will fill the spot unexpectedly left open by former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley last month. According to CNN, people close to the President warned him not to say much until her appointment is formally announced, but President Trump couldn’t help but share his feelings about his new pick:
“She’s excellent. She’s been with us a long time. She’s been a supporter for a long time. And she’s really excellent.”
–President Donald Trump
For those not aware, I believe Heather Nauert is excellent, and she’s really excellent. In terms of her qualifications for the position, she has no experience in a diplomatic position. Analysts believe that Trump favors her because of her loyalty to his base. Prior to Tillerson’s firing from his position at the state department, he said that Nauert was more concerned about the fate of the Trump administration than the US State Department.
