In theory, one would think that “all-you-can-eat-sushi” would be a good idea. Think about it…Delicious sushi-grade tuna as far as the eye can see, yellowtail that melts in your mouth, miso soup flowing like water down a river. Yes, it all sounds magical. Considering how amazing that all sounds, does your perspective shift when I tell you the sushi rides around, without end, on tiny boats? Well, when I went to the restaurant depicted in the above imaginative exercise, it was anything but magical. The tuna was almost certainly not sushi-grade, the yellowtail lingered on my tongue, and the miso soup river had been damned off. I also threw up after eating there.

Here’s what you missed in the news yesterday.

Amazon (AMZN) Chooses Moon For HQ2

All joking aside, after a year of super-bowl level hype, the online marketplace, and eventual overlord of our universe, Amazon Inc., (AMZN) announced on Tuesday that it will be building two new headquarters in Queens, New York, and Crystal City, Virginia.  According to CNET reports, each location will generate 25,000 new jobs.

“These two locations will allow us to attract world-class talent that will help us to continue investing for customers for years to come.”

Jeff Bezos, Chief Executive Officer, Amazon

Over the course of the next fifteen to seventeen years, Amazon (AMZN) will spend $5 billion on the two building projects.

Brexit Divorce Paperwork Is In

UK PM Theresa May met with members of her cabinet on Tuesday to update them on the news that a Brexit deal is on the drafting table. After a near five-hour cabinet meeting, described by May as a “long, detailed and impassioned debate,” the PM’s cabinet has backed a draft withdrawn agreement between the UK and the EU, according to BBC news.

The official language of the agreement stated that Brexit, once agreed upon:

…”will ensure an orderly withdrawal through various separation provisions aiming to prevent disruption and to provide legal certainty to citizens and economic operators as well as to judicial and administrative authorities in the Union and in the United Kingdom, while not excluding the possibility of relevant separation provisions being superseded by the agreement (s) on the future relationship…”

Vod-K Cups, Anyone?

So you say you’re not a fan of Keurig coffee because it tastes stale and gets cold relatively fast, but what if I was to tell you of a new product that combines Keurig technology and alcoholic beverages? Is that something you might be interested in?

As of Tuesday, Keurig and Anheuser-Busch (BUD) teamed up to offer the Drinkworks Home Bar. The new cocktail-pod machine costs around $230, and each cocktail pod reportedly costs $4. DrinkWorks (BUD) is capable of making numerous cocktails at break-neck speeds by calculating the exact amount of water and carbonation needed for each drink, then combining the alcohol, water, and carbonation to make the perfect beverage.

“This joint venture was created with the mission of making the entire drinking experience — from purchase, to creation, to enjoyment — more remarkable through innovation. We started with a clear opportunity: consumers want to serve and enjoy complex cocktails at home, but it’s time-consuming, expensive and messy….We’re confident that the appliance we designed with them solves this perfectly.”

Nathaniel Davis, Chief Executive Officer, Drinkworks
