Well, friends, the time has come to raise the roof and have some fun. Throw away the work to be done, let the music play on. In all seriousness, thanksgiving is several days away, and I thought it would be a good idea to create a sample menu for those of you struggling to come up with a plan for what to serve on turkey day.
Appetizer
- Toasted White Bread with a flavor blasted goldfish crust
- Tater Tot Au Gratin made with white cheddar goldfish crumble
- Caesar salad (Gem Lettuce, Creamy Caesar Dressing, goldfish croutons)
Main Course
- Roast Turkey w/ multigrain pretzel goldfish stuffing
- Mashed Yukon Gold(fish) potatoes
Dessert
- Baked Brie with mixed berry compote
I couldn’t include goldfish in every single menu offering, that would be ridiculous. Here’s what you missed in the news yesterday.
Three Senators Walk Into A Courtroom
And those three senators from the above set up for some sort of political joke decided to pursue legal action against President Trump’s naming of Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general, accusing Trump of depriving the U.S. Senate its constitutional right to act on such appointments, according to Reuters.
Senators Richard Blumenthal, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Senator Mazie Hirono are calling the Trump administration’s appointment unconstitutional and expect a federal court in Washington to follow (law)suit.
“The U.S. Senate has not consented to Mr. Whitaker serving in any office within the federal government. We need an opportunity to consider his espoused legal views, his affiliation with a company that is under criminal investigation for defrauding consumers, and his public comments criticizing and proposing to curtail ongoing DOJ investigations that implicate the President.”

Monkey Pelosi, Monkey Pelo-do
When Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) became the first female in history to hold the position of Speaker of the House in 2007, she worked tirelessly to help Democrats pass monumental legislation, including the passing of the Affordable Care Act during the Obama administration’s first term. After ten years, sixteen Democrats announced on Tuesday that they believe its time for “new leadership” when the House picks a new Speaker in January.
“We promised to change the status quo, and we intend to deliver on that promise. Therefore, we are committed to voting for new leadership in both our Caucus meeting and on the House Floor. We also recognize that in this recent election, Democrats ran and won on a message of change. Our majority came on the backs of candidates who said the would support new leadership because voters…want to see real change in Washington.”
–Rebel Democrats Who Want Pelosi Out
While I agree that long-serving political leaders should recognize that youthful spirit offers new approaches to how we govern our country, trying to force out Speaker Pelosi because she’s an “out-of-touch” liberal seems hardly reason enough to make the change.
Where Have All The Trustworthy Politicians Gone?
Everyone wants to know the answer to this question because, yet again, a government official has proven that with great power, comes the great potential for corruption. United Nations (UN) Environment Chief Erik Solheim officially resigned after an audit of his travel budget found that he spent $488,518 on travel-related expenses.
Rather than just the more-than-reasonable $500k travel bill, Solheim simply elected to resign and say nothing.
Several colleagues described Solheim as “a leading voice in drawing the world’s attention to critical environmental challenges,” and away from his first-class accommodations,
