I’m not one for reading into things, but you can learn quite a bit about a person by watching how they order breakfast at a restaurant. When the waiter comes over and says, “what’ll y’all be having?” And the person to your left begins to order, listen closely to what they say. “I’ll take the banana nut pancakes, please.” Okay, right there, that person is someone you should keep close because they care about energizing their body with carbohydrates while enjoying the decadence of a sweet, syrup-covered breakfast. Good on you, friend. Your friend on the right, whom you’ve always been just a hair skeptical of, starts to place their order. “Hi, I’ll have scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast, thank you.” You’re in shock, what a classic, loyal friend. This person will never overstep or hog the spotlight, what a guy. Then, it happens. The friend directly across from you orders two egg-whites and cottage cheese, and you have permission to lose your cool for several minutes. That entire breakfast is one color, rubbery, and tasteless, this person is a straight weirdo.
I’m sure everyone you know orders breakfast quite nicely and if not, here’s what you missed in the news yesterday.
It Just Takes Some Time, Little Girl, You’re In The Midterm Of The Ride
Americans far and wide traveled to the polls on Tuesday to vote on senators, congressional representatives and ballot measures for their states in the US midterm elections. Voters determined the fate of major issues in US politics including but not limited to legalization of cannabis, voting rights for felons convicted of non-violent offenses, and reproductive rights. According to NBC exit polls, nearly 41% of voters went into the voting process with health care as the most important issue in their collective minds. In addition to health care, two-thirds of voters said President Trump was important to their vote, whether in support or opposition, according to NBC.
Once again Congress is divided, with Democrats controlling the House and the Republicans firmly in power over in the Senate chambers. Political analysts say that if Democrats had won a couple more seats in the Senate, they’d have a better chance of retaking the Senate in 2020, but considering the outcome from last night, they have their work cut out for them.
Dead Men Pass No Legislation
It’s been long foretold that the path of pimping is not a career you simply apply for on LinkedIn. Dennis Hof, the owner of the Bunny Ranch, a brother in Nevada, died last month. While his death is upsetting for many, the real news relates to Nevada’s 36th District Assembly election. Hof ran against Democratic candidate Lesia Romanov and, from the grave, defeated his opponent in the midterm election on Tuesday.
According to Fox News, County officials will appoint a Republican to replace Dennis Hof for the 36th District position. I’m not sure what’s crazier; the fact that a brothel owner ran for public office, or maybe that he was able to win the election while resting in peace.
