Republicans and Democrats battle with the government as they want the health care plan to be revised. The battle over which act should replace the Affordable Care Act is on. The common claims are not in favor across the entire U.S. health care system. Many want a revised law, which would enact major changes such as protecting pre-existing conditions and hastening the rising prescription costs.
Time For A Change
Americans have been facing high drug costs. They believe it to be a major concern, which needs to be tackled by Congress. A new Kaiser Family Foundation Poll revealed 68% of the Americans want lawmakers to target and take action against rising prices. Furthermore, 64% believe pre-existing conditions must be preserved. Half of them believe surprise medical bills need to be a major priority.
The issue in common is drug pricing. This is because most people have been, in some way or the other, affected by ever-rising drug prices. Pre-existing conditions are actually covered under the Affordable Care Act. But it’s uncertain if the law would be able to hold. The reason is because Republicans have been protesting against this idea of covering pre-existing conditions. Even a bill was passed regarding the same but failed to pass the Senate.
Rising Drug Prices Put Healthcare In Focus
The latest polls show there has been more concern regarding the rise in the drug prices as compared to health care. This debate over the requirements of health care has been affecting the 2020 elections. The Democrats and the Republicans have been promising changes or even a replacement for ObamaCare. Both lawmakers from both sides of the floor have been protesting against each other’s reform attempts.
There have been constant news and information stating politicians are willing to replace Obama Care with a completely new health care system. But the lawmakers have rather decided to take into consideration American’s issue and fix the same, for an instance by making laws in favor of the same.
