What I’m about to tell you is purely speculative and is in no way, shape or form a prediction of what is to come in the future. Having said that, I am truly fearful that print media is on its way out and this is incredibly sad. As much as I love technology, I hate what it’s done to books, newspapers, and magazines. For some reason, we’d rather view words on a screen than physically feel the page. I’m not sure what will happen to everyone who loves reading the Sunday paper once they stop printing them. It’s really quite troubling that printed media is headed for an early resting place. I think the best course of action to keep it alive is for parents to stop handing their children tablets and screens, and instead give them drawing paper and comics from local newspapers. This will be a good start, at least for a little bit.

Go grab a newspaper, here’s what you missed in the news over the weekend.

The One and Only Tiger, The One and Only Taste

Though I’m not much of a golfing fan, it’s still exciting when a professional golfer wins the Masters tournament. It’s even better when that person is long-time golf pro Tiger Woods. On Sunday, fourteen years after his last Masters win, Tiger Woods secured the trophy. Interestingly enough, this is Tiger’s fourteenth time winning the tournament.

“Just unreal, to be honest with you. You know, just the whole tournament has meant so much to me over the years. Coming here in ’95 for the first time, and being able to play as an amateur; winning in ’97, and then come full circle, 22 years later, to be able to do it again, and just the way it all transpired today. There were so many different scenarios that could have transpired on that back nine. There were so many guys that had a chance to win. Leaderboard was absolutely packed and everyone was playing well.”

Trump Being Trump

I find myself often getting pretty fired up/frustrated at many of the choices made by our politicians. What’s even more infuriating is that President Donald Trump usually tops my list for some of the things he says. Now, first and foremost, I am completely bi-partisan and think he’s done a great job in a lot of ways. Where he’s faltered has been anything having to do with immigration.

“Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing illegal immigrants in Sanctuary Cities. The radical left always seems to have an open borders, open arms policy — so this should make them very happy.”

-President Donald Trump
